I rediscovered my first band Seedy and the Buns and am very much enjoying listening to our dodgy home-recorded back catalog. This was definitely the height of my bass-playing creativity and ability, especially in our long grooving jams (which were never perfect, but I am constantly entertained by how we were able to evolve a theme over the course of 4-8 minutes).
It's just amazing coming back to these recordings after 3 or 4 years and wondering where we were at and how we did all these things.
It also makes one think how bands that have been going for 10 or 20 years approach listening to their old material, especially still playing some of it night after night.
